An automated employer-verification database is checked first where it has coverage; anything it doesn't cover goes to a human verifier who attempts contact using independently-sourced information. If you've optionally provided a contact lead for a role or certification, that's checked against an independent listing first and only used if it holds up, never trusted on its own. Some items may end up permanently unable to verify despite that effort; that's shown honestly on Verification Status rather than hidden. None of this blocks you from using Profile Info, Views, Sharing, Subscription, or Activity in the meantime. It only holds back sending data to partners until it resolves.
